In Seven Bed-time stories (Justine), a series of seven drawings, I have used images from the gravures illustrating Marquis de Sade’s, Justine. I have drawn the background with tiny pencil lines in order to create a texture resembling that of fabric. I then punctured the paper from the back to describe the figures and their erotic tangles, thus creating a new texture on the drawing surface.

In Seven Bed-time Stories (Brothers Grimm), a series of seven drawings, I draw from illustrations of four fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm: Little Red Riding Hood, The Town Musicians of Bremen, The Story of a Boy Who Went Forth to Learn Fear and Founding-Bird. The heroes of the images are described by a second layer of pencil marks, making them come out or hide in the texture of the background.

In Red Bed-time Stories, a series of seven drawings, the source material is again illustrations of fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm: Little Red Riding Hood, The Town Musicians of Bremen, The Six Swans, Snow-White, The Goose Girl, The Jew Among Thorns. I have used red carbon paper to make the imprint of the figures on the paper and then drew the background with pencil lines.
